Bloemfontein - South Africa’s women’s hockey team are through to the semi-finals of the Commonwealth Games after securing the second spot in their pool.
The Proteas beat a tricky India 3-2 yesterday to secure their 2nd position.
South Africa’s goals came via the sticks of Tarryn Bright, Dirkie Chamberlain and Illse Davids.
Our women will face Pool B winners, Australia tomorrow afternoon at 15:20 in the semis.
Meanwhile, the South African men must beat India’s men at five o’clock this afternoon if they are to qualify for Saturday’s semi-finals against what is likely to be England.
On Tuesday, the SA men beat Wales 5-1.
