Middendorp gets red as Celtic and Dikwena draw | News Article

Bloemfontein Celtic coach, Ernst Middendorp received a red card yesterday in their PSL clash against Platinum Stars in Rustenburg, as the sides played to goalless draw.

The animated coach got sent to the changing room after stepping out the coaches box at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Assistant coach, Fadlu Davids said it was a strange decision, and their aren’t have with the single point from the game after dominating the home side.

“It’s is a little bit strange that the one time our coach steps just outside the technical area he gets sent off.

“It has to be fair for  both sides, the other coach (Allan Freese) also stepped out, so we’ll just have to look into it,” Davids said about Middendorp's card.

“I don’t think we’re happy with the point.

“In the second half after changing the structure, we could have gotten one or two, even three or four goals, Davids added.

Yesterday’s other result saw champions Mamelodi Sundowns beat AmaZulu 2-0.

While on Saturday, Free State Stars and Martizburg United played to a 1-1 draw, Orlando Pirates thumped Polokwane 3-0, the Amakhozi beat the battling SuperSport United 2-0 and Black Aces played to a goalless stalemate against Tuks.

Friday evening saw Wits thump Moroka Swallows 3-0 in Johannesburg, and Chippa United held Roger de Sa's Ajax Cape Town to a 1-1 draw in Port Elizabeth.
