Celtic breaks AmaTuks hearts in Pretoria | News Article

Bloemfontein Celtic have picked up their third win in a row in all competitions when they beat the University of Pretoria last night to win their third game in the Premier Soccer League.

Phunya Sele Sele came from behind to beat AmaTuks thanks to a brace by Lerato Lamola.

Lamola’s 36th minute goal cancelled out Thabo Mnyamane’s 7th minute to take the sides into the break all square at a goal apiece.

On equal terms after the opening 45, the two teams traded blows after the hour mark as first Geofrey Massa had a headed effort cleared off the line, before Lyle Lakay was denied by goalkeeper Washington Arubi.

Lakay looked lively after coming on in the second half and asked questions of the Tuks defence with his pinpoint accurate set-piece deliveries.

Lamola then found the back of the net three minutes from time for the winner and to break Tuks hearts.

Celtic climbed to 9th in the standings, while Tuks slumped to 15th.

Meanwhile, at the Charles Morapeli Stadium, Free State Stars and bottom-of-the-log AmaZulu played to a goalless draw.
