The South African Hockey Association has named the new coach of the South African women’s hockey team.
Sheldon Rostron, has been appointed as the head coach of the side after filing the position in a temporary role over the last year or some.
Rostron, has been with the team in coaching and management positions through major tournaments such as the Olympic Games, the 2014 World Cup and Commonwealth Games.
Meanwhile, the men’s side named their final 18-man squad for the World League Round 2 tournament which starts in Cape Town on Saturday.
A top three finish in the Mother City would qualify South Africa for one of the two World League Semi-Final tournaments due to take place later this year.
South Africa face China on Saturday and take on Egypt on Sunday, with their match against Switzerland being played on Tuesday.
