Afasa lauds Qabathe for commitment to agriculture─── SABRINA DEAN 17:23 Fri, 20 Mar 2015
Bloemfontein - The African Farmers Association of South Africa has lauded former Free State Agriculture MEC Mamiki Qabathe as a dedicated servant who was committed to her job and the farmers she served.
Afasa Secretary General Aggrey Mahanjana said in a statement the union is thrilled for Qabathe at her promotion to speaker of the Free State Legislature. He added, however, that the provincial government’s gain is a loss for farmers in the province.
Afasa Free State President Pitso Sekhoto meanwhile told OFM News the union is committed to working hand-in-hand with whoever the new MEC might be to the benefit of agriculture in the province:

Sekhoto also lauded Qabathe for everything she has done for Afasa.
Qabathe was earlier this month elected to the more senior position and a new MEC is yet to be announced. The Department is scheduled to table its budget in the legislature next week.
