Dairy entries judged in Bloem | News Article

Bloemfontein - Twelve judges from across the country have been nibbling, sniffing and tasting their way through the 153 entries into the dairy competition hosted annually by Bloem Show.

According to the organisers, this is the only show in the country that still hosts a dairy competition. Categories range from cheddar chese and gouda cheese to butter, yoghurt, flavoured milk and other speciality cheeses.

Some of the big names being judged this week include Clover, Lancewood, Dairybelle,  Dairy Corporation, as well as lesser well-known names such as Goaties, Melkbok and Klippiesveldkaas, among others.

Judging took place at the dairy hall at the show grounds in Bloemfontein yesterday and the winner will be announced on 1 May.
