Bloemfontein - A former managing director of OVK, Hardie van Niekerk, passed away in Bloemfontein at the age of 61 this week.
According to a statement, van Niekerk will be remembered as a genuine person, widely respected in agriculture circles for his charm and dedication.
He started his career with OVK as manager of trade in May 1995 and took over as managing director in April 2002. He retired in 2013 to focus full-time on his passion for farming.
Van Niekerk is survived by his wife Elsa, sons Jannie and Wimpie and daughter Tharina van Zyl.
