Better roads lead to improved stock theft reaction, says MEC─── 17:06 Fri, 19 Jun 2015
Bloemfontein - The improved condition of roads in the Free State is facilitating faster movement of the stock theft unit, benefitting the provincial economy and leading to a drop in the number of lives lost on provincial roads.
This is according to Police, Roads and Transport MEC Butana Komphela who was responding to questions in the Free State Legislature this week.
He said three years ago at least 67% of roads were in a poor to very poor condition, with the figure now standing at 60%, including gravel roads.
