Bloemfontein - Twenty future agriculture leaders graduated last week after successfully completing the third annual Syngenta Grain Academy business and leadership programme.
The graduates were part of a group of 25 students who started the intensive three-month programme, presented by Syngenta in partnership with Grain SA and the University of the Free State.
Commenting on the programme, Grain SA Chairperson Louw Steytler says it is crucial to equip young and determined growers with strong business-minded qualities to cultivate the future of agriculture in the country.
One of the graduates, Magnus Theunissen from Ottosdal, describes the programme as a personal leadership enrichment course:

The graduation ceremony took place at the UFS Business School last week. Students also had an opportunity to conduct a final presentation on the projects they completed, with issues ranging from land reform to employee management to emerging farmer capacity.
