Land reform gets R204-million injection | News Article

Bloemfontein - Thousands of emerging farmers are set to benefit from the R204-million funding approved by the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform this week.

Elton Greeve, head of land acquisition at the department, told OFM News the bulk of the funds will go towards 31 projects that have been approved for farm recapitalisation.

He says the R146-million will assist emerging farmers with capital requirements:

Another R58-million was also approved for the acquisition of some 7800 hectares in all nine provinces. According to a statement, this is expected to benefit 5108 beneficiaries.

Greeve meanwhile says this allocation is a significant contribution towards achieving the long-term vision of the department, both in land reform and development goals.
