Bloemfontein - Eight agriculture graduates are receiving support from the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform in the form of a R15,5-million farm purchased in the Capricorn District in Limpopo.
The Department said in a statement it this week approved the acquisition of the 826 hectare Waldburg Farm as part of its Proactive Land Acquisition Strategy (PLAS).
The graduates comprise three degree students, four with diplomas and one with a certificate. They are currently working on other land reform farms to gain experience.
The Department said the graduates will also be registered as an entity through the Agricultural Sector Education Training Authority (Agriseta), which will also provide additional mentorship support.
DRDLR says it also recently acquired four farms in KwaZulu-Natal with a combined value of R18,3-million.
