Emergency power shut down for parts of Bloemfontein─── 09:59 Tue, 08 Jul 2014
Certain parts of Bloemfontein may experience a power outage due to cable theft, Centlec said.
Please note that the Electricity Supply will be interrupted from 10:00 this morning until 14:00 itoday. This is due to copper theft of all earth conductors at the Spitskop Distribution Centre. There was an ARC flash on all the structures previous night. This has put the Distribution Centre at risks and also prompted the emergency shut down.
Affected Areas are:
* The entire of Langenhoven Park* Parts of Universitas Rif
Centlec says their technicians are currently working tirelessly to restore electricity as soon as possible.
Affected communities are warned that the power may be restored at anytime without prior warning, and therefore all the installations must be treated as live and dangerous at all times.
