All dismissed G4S staff to be reinstated─── 17:35 Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Bloemfontein - All 326 employees who were dismissed from a privately-run prison in Bloemfontein last year will be reinstated in their positions. This was announced at the Grootvlei prison today during a private meeting between the Department of Correctional Services (DCS), the private company (G4S), Popcru and the dismissed staff.
A reliable source confirmed that the dismissed staff will report for duty on 1 August. Sapa recently reported that DSC will withdraw itself from the facility at the end of this month.
The company lost control of the facility the last September because of security concerns and numerous breaches in their contract, DCS said then.
Zacharia Modise, who headed the facility under DCS, confirmed today’s meeting , but added that official comment would only be made next week.
