Bloemfontein -  The Pumas will be without four of their star players in their Currie Cup opener against the Toyota Free State Cheetahs on Saturday.
 
Coach, Jimmy Stonehouse included centre Stefan Watermeyer, who was a player featuring regularly during the Lions' Super Rugby campaign.
 
Watermeyer, who will form the midfield combination with JW Jonker.
 
Lions scrumhalf, Faf de Klerk and fullback Coenie van Wyk, who will be joining the Cheetahs are ruled out with injury.
 
Reynier van Rooyen will form a halfback combination with flyhalf Justin van Staden.
 
JW Bell runs out at fullback and will form the back three with Springbok Sevens players Rosco Speckman and Ruwellyn Isbell.
 
The Cheetahs in their turn name their team today and coach Rory Duncan could be left with a few selection headaches.
 
Saturday’s match at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit kicks off at 19:10.
