Cheetahs flanker suffers hamstring injury─── 09:06 Mon, 02 Mar 2015
The Toyota Cheetahs are sweating over the fitness of influential loose forward Willie Britz after the player sustained a hamstring injury during their hard fought 25-24 win over the Blues.
The player came off the park in the 20th minute of the encounter after chasing a ball into touch.
While the side has players such as Boom Prinsloo to turn to, the injury comes as a major blow ahead of their match against the Bulls on Saturday.
Coach Naka Drotské confirmed that Britz sustained a hamstring niggle and will most likely undergo a scan today.
Other results in the South African conference this past weekend saw the Bulls secure their first win of the season with a 43-35 win over the Sharks in Pretoria, and the Stormers made it three out of three with a scrappy 22-19 win over the Lions.
