Mohoje back in Cheetahs line-up | News Article

Springbok flank, Oupa Mohoje has been recalled the Toyota Cheetahs match-23 to face the Sharks after initially being omitted in order to rest according to SARU guidelines.

Mohoje returns to the run-on team in the place of Tienie Burger who has been ruled out due to concussion.

Heinrich Brussow however remains on the bench and should get a run during the second half of the game.

The mere presence of the Springbok fetcher gives the side a psychological advantage, and captain Francois Uys told Courant that he is off immense value to the team.

“It’s going to be massive. Every Monday everybody just askes it’s Heinz going to be ready,” the lock said.

“I think it’s going to have massive impact on the younger players as well, a lot of people forget that we actually are quiet an inexperienced side.

“So we’re definitely going to learn from what he can give us that that is just the way he goes about doing things,” Uys said about the influential player.

Meanwhile, Springbok centre JP Pietersen of the Sharks expects a tough battle in the backline, with Johann Sadie returning to the Cheetahs starting XV.

Speaking out in Durban, Pietersen said with the centre back in the side they will have their hands full.

Saturday evening’s match at the Free State Stadium kicks off at 17:05.
