Springbok lock, Pieter-Steph du Toits’ Rugby World Cup dreams could be in serious jeopardy after the player sustained a serious knee injury during the Sharks 27-10 win over the Toyota Cheetahs during the Super Rugby.
The player was carted off the park during the first half of the match in Bloemfontein, and it made an immediate impact with the score on 22-3 at that stage.
The player missed the majority of the 2014 season with a very simualar injury.
Following the match, coach Gary Gold confirmed that the player with two caps to his name was not in a good state.
Meanwhile, the Cheetahs jetted off to Sydney yesterday afternoon for their overseas leg of the competition.
Saturday the side who have two wins and two losses tackle the Crusaders in Christchurch with kick-off at 8:35.
