The Pretoria side got their revenge after losing last year’s final to André Tredoux’s boys with an impressive all-round performance on both attack and defence.

Following the match, Kovies captain Andries Kriek said mistakes cost them in the final, but the team has cemented a brotherhood they will have forever.
In Johannesburg, the University of KwaZulu-Natal Impi beat Wits 29-24 to win the Varsity Shield for the first time.
Next week Monday at 19:00, the Shimlas host the North West University Pukke at Shimla Park in the Varsity Cup final.
