Oosthuizen withdrawn from Lions battle | News Article

The Toyota Cheetahs suffered another setback ahead of their Super Rugby clash against the Lions in Johannesburg on Saturday.

Springbok prop, Coenie Oosthuizen has withdrawn from the squad for the match due to a back injury which will see him out of action for a week.

The side’s depth will be tested with Heinrich Brüssow, Willie le Roux, Lood de Jager, Oupa Mohoje, Jean Cook and BG Uys all injured.

Maks van Dyk moves from the bench into the starting front row at tighthead prop, while Ewald van der Westhuizen comes on the bench.

Joe Pietersen was yesterday named at fullback with Willie du Plessis starting in the pivot role.

News out of the Lions camp has indicated that Mark Richards has been passed fit for the match after being steamrolled by Willem Alberts during their match against the Sharks.

The Cheetahs enter their match hunting for their fourth win of the season, while the confident and in-form Lions come off a bye and four straight wins.
