The rivalry resumes with Vodacom Cup heating up | News Article

It’s all to play for this weekend when the old rivalry resumes with the Griquas hosting the Toyota Free State XV in the Vodacom Cup.

With the quarter-finals looming next week, both teams are fighting for the second place in the South Section, while the Peacock Blues can still claim the top spot should the leaders, Western Province fall to the difficult South Western Districts Eagles.

The men from the Diamond City will be wary of Rory Duncan’s side who beat them during the warm-up games of the competition.

Saturday’s match at GWK Park kicks off at 15:00, while Province host the Eagles at Newlands at 14:45.

In the north section, the Leopards can still claim fourth quarter-final spot, but will need to beat the Welwitschias in Windhoek, with Valke breathing down their next by one point.
Friday night’s match in the Namibian capital city kicks off at 20:00, while the Griffons tackle the Golden Lions at 15:00 at the Pelatona Stadium in Welkom.
