Leopards want a Valke favour | News Article

The Currie Cup premier division qualifiers are heating up with the Griquas, Leopards and Boland all still in contention to gain promotion, while Border still have an outside chance.

The log-leaders, the Griquas have a tricky game tomorrow afternoon when they tackle the Valke in Kempton Park.

Valke are dead and buried they have nothing to lose, while the Griquas cannot afford another loss in the competition.

The Leopards want to make the most use of their home ground of advantage when they entertain Boland in Potchefstroom.

A loss for Boland will kill they chances, while the Leopards want to stay within striking distance of the side from Kimberley.

Leopards coach, Robert du Preez told OFM Sport that they can do with a favour from the Valke.

“We do, we really hope that the Valke can pull it off, but it’s out of our hands and this stage we’ve just got to concentrate on what we have to do on Saturday.

“It’s going to be a tough one because they are going to have their tails up.

“They won last weekend against the Valke which it’s always a tough side to play against.

“But it’s going to be good, we’re looking forward to it.

Tomorrow’s match between the Leopards and the Cavaliers at Profert Olën Park in Potschefstroom kicks off at 14:30, while the game in Kempton Park gets underway at 15:00.

At the same time the Griffons host the Border Bulldogs at HT Pelatona Park in Welkom.
