The defending Currie Cup champions, Western Province are looking for an improved performance in the rucks and mauls when they tackle the Toyota Free State Cheetahs on Friday evening in Bloemfontein.

The side from Cape Town are looking to improve on the poor performance against the Blue Bulls on Saturday when they lost 47-29 in the big north-south derby.

Coach John Dobson has made three changes to his starting XV for the match in Bloemfontein with Allister Vermaak replacing the injured Oli Kebble on the loosehead, while scrumhalf Godlen Masimla will make his debut with Nic Groom in London to play for the Barbarians against Samoa.

Kobus van Wyk makes his return to the side and will start on the right wing in the place of the Dillyn Leyds.

On the Cheetahs side, Maks van Dyk will be unavailable for the match with the player joining Groom on the trip to London for the BaaBaas.

Franco Smith will announce his side for the match this morining.

Friday evenings fourth round clash at the Free State Stadium kicks off at 19:10.
