Changes expected for Kings clash─── 09:16 Wed, 09 Sep 2015
The Toyota Free State Cheetahs are set to announce their side this morning for their Currie Cup sixth round clash against the Eastern Province Kings.
The side will see a new prop come into the match-22 with both Caylib Oosthuizen and Maks van Dyk ruled out for the match.
This paves the way for a whole host of front-rowers to been named, however at this stage it seems as if George Marich or Chase Morrison could crack the nod.
A slight injury to winger Raymond Rhule could see Springbok winger and Blitzbok stalwart Cornal Hendricks make his possible Free State Currie Cup debut this week.
The player missed out on world cup selection and has been back training with the squad.
Team vice-captain, Francois Venter told OFM Sport that this years’ Currie Cup is one of the most exciting and he feels the Kings will be tough on Friday despite all the off-field politics.
"I think this Currie Cup is one of the best I've seen in years, there's no such thing as just pitching up and beating a team.
"The Kings will be tough espeacilly there, but we've got a belief in the team that we can beat anyone.
"We are just trying to focus on our own stuff and take it week by week,"
Friday evening’s clash at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth kicks off at 19:10.
