Bloemfontein - The South African Football Association will announce the new South African National coach next week.

SAFA CEO Dennis Mumble said the announcement will be made next week Saturday at the National Executive Commitees’ meeting.

Outgoing coach Gordon Igesund's was informed last month that his contract would not be renewed after it expires at the end of August.

Former Bafana coach Carlos Queiroz, who led Iran to the recently concluded 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, was reported to be the favourite for the job.

However, reports yesterday indicated that Queiroz had extended his contract with the Iranian team.

Other top contenders for the job are said to be Nigeria's coach Stephen Keshi and current South African Under-20 and Under-23 coach, Shakes Mashaba.
