Bloemfontein - Despite having made their Parys move permanent, Jomo Cosmos will still be training in Gauteng owing to lack of training facilities in the town.

The National First Division side recently announced their surprising move to the Free State to become the third provincial team in the NFD, alongside Maluti FET and African Warriors.

Although, they can now be referred to as the Free State team, Cosmos' spokesperson, AB Selebano, said unavailability of training facilities in Parys is hindering the team’s immediate relocation.

“Cosmos is a team from Free State now; they will be playing in Parys but training in Gauteng. This is because of the unavailability of the training facilities in Parys,” he tells OFM Sport.

“We will come to Parys a day prior to the match,” he added.

Cosmos will utilise the Fezile Dabi Stadium for their home matches, but will still be training at the Makhulong Stadium, in Tembisa until the training facilities in Parys are built.

“We want to complete all that in the next two to three years, because we do not want to overload the Fezile Dabi Sport Complex by training and playing there,” Selebano said.

“However, as soon as we get the training facilities, we will move to Parys permanently. We will have the offices and the merchandise shop in Parys as well.”

Selebano said Ezenkosi will be in Parys more often, because they want to familiarize themselves with the environment and the people of Parys.

He said the team was in Parys this past weekend to play friendly matches and they also had trials.

The decision to bring Ezenkosi to the province came after the provincial government realised that Parys had no team to utilise the newly built stadium of 18 000 capacity in the future.
