Bloemfontein - Kaizer Chiefs set-up a Soweto Derby with Orlando Pirates in the final of the MTN8, courtesy of a 3-0 win over Platinum Stars in their second-leg semi-final at the FNB Stadium.

Goals by George Maluleka, Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Katlego Mphela ensured the Amakhosi won the semi-finals 5-0 on aggregate following their 2-0 away at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium a week earlier.

Fellow Soweto giants, Pirates booked their spot in the final thanks to a 3-1 win over Wits in Soweto on Saturday evening, securing a second successive appearance for the Buccaneers, who lost to Stars in the final a year ago.

Chiefs coach, Stuart Baxter is excited at being involved in another Soweto Derby, and feels it’s great for South African soccer.

“It’s tremendous, it will be a great occasion,” said Baxter about the final.

“If we look at the derbies before, this one’s a cup final, so that will give it some extra spice.”

“It’s a special occasion, especially for South African football," said the excited coach.

The final will be on 20 September at a venue and time yet to be confirmed.
