AmaZulu target Celtic for turnaround | News Article

Durban-based Premier Soccer League side, AmaZulu are looking to turnaround their season this week, starting with the Telkom Knockout.

The side who are bottom of the log in the PSL standings with three loses and four draws in their seven matches are targeting Bloemfontein Celtic for their turnaround match.

AmaZulu coach, Craig Roslee who met with the clubs management avoided saying his side has gone into crises mode.

However, Roslee feels the Celtic match in the Cup competition is an ideal opportunity to turn things around.

“It’s obviously not where we want to be, but I think it’s a great opportunity with a cup game coming to turn the corner.

“The club has high aspirations, one was in the league and the second was in the cup,” Roslee said about the sides’ season and preseason goals.

“This is a short cup, the Telkom Cup, will all the PSL sides and hopefully we do well,” the under-fire coach said about the Telkom Knockout.

“We’ve got a home game against Celtic who are tough opposition and we haven’t had the league results, but it’s an important game for us and we can us the game to turn the corner for us,” he added.

Celtic won the tournament back in 2012 under the guidance of former coach, Clinton Larsen.

The last time these two sides met, Celtic beat Usuthu 2-0 at the Moses Mabidha stadium in Durban.

Saturday’s nights match at the Princess Magogo Stadium kicks off at 20:15.
