The Ivory Coast are on course to win just their second ever AFCON title after breezing into the final last night.
Goals from Yaya Toure, Gervinho and Serge Wilfried Kanon saw Cote d’Ivoire into the finals of the 2015 African Cup of Nations after beating Democratic Republic of Congo 3-1 the semi-final at the Estadio de Bata last night.
Toure opened the scoring for the Elephants in the 20th minute, however a penalty four minutes later saw DRC equalise.
Cote d’Ivoire finished the first half the stronger of the two sides after Gervinho gave them the lead 4 minutes before the break.
Kanon drove the final nail in the DRC coffin with a 68th close range goal.
Ivory Coast will face the winner of tonight’s second semi between hosts Equatorial Guinea and Ghana in Malabo.
