Celtic happy with Amakhosi draw | News Article

Bloemfontein Celtic held the unbeaten Kaizer Chiefs to a goalless draw at the Free State Stadium in last night’s big PSL Clash.

Celtic, who have been experiencing an indifferent season denied the league leaders a chance of widening the gap at the top of the standings by sharing points.

As early as the third minute, the visitors showed urgency in finding an early lead when Mandla Masango took a shot, but goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb safely held on.

As the game progressed, both sides became more comfortable on the ball as the match intensified with both teams attacking each other.

However at the end of the 90 minutes, neither side was able to find the back of the net.

Last night’s performance left the Siwelele faithful singing deep into the night and coach Clinton Larsen was left happy with the points.

In last night’s other results Ajax Cape Town and Polokwane City played to a 1-1 draw. SuperSport United and Free State Stars scored two goals apiece.

Orlando Pirates beat AmaZulu 2-1 for the only win of the night, and Platinum Stars and Black Aces ended 1-1.
