Celtic waiting for Matsatsantsa | News Article

Bloemfontein Celtic are looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier Soccer League to five game when they host the tricky SuperSport United on Wednesday evening.

The side from to Pretoria come to Bloemfontein on the back of two successive home defeats after a 5-2 drubbing by AmaZulu and Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Ajax Cape Town.

The two defeats saw the side slip to 9th in the league, while Phunaya Sele Sele’s 1-0 win away to Wits sees them just 2 points of adrift of top five spot.

Furthermore, the win saw Celtic earn their fourth consecutive clean sheet in the league, with last goal conceded during their 2-1 to Orlando Pirates on 20 December.

After their win over the Clever Boys in Johannesburg, coach Clinton Larsen said he was happy with the way his team is playing at the moment.

Meanwhile, SuperSport United, along with their partner Engen will host a coaching clinic and a training session in Bloemfontein tomorrow afternoon.

The Telkom Knockout Champions will conduct the coaching clinic and train at Grey College led by Head Coach Gordon Igesund and the rest of the coaching staff.

Star players, including Bafana Bafana winger Thuso Phala, midfielder Michael Morton and goalkeeper Ronwen Williams will be at the training session, which will take place on 10 March at 16h00.

“To have the Premier Soccer League team coming to Grey College just months after winning the Telkom Knockout Cup is just fantastic,” said Ludwig Koekemoer, Grey College representative.

Wednesday evenings tie at the Free State Stadium kicks-off at 19:30.
