Bafana Bafana play to a one-all draw─── 08:10 Mon, 30 Mar 2015
Bafana Bafana has made it three draws in a row against the Super Eagles of Nigeria as the teams played to a 1-1 draw at the Mbombela Stadium yesterday afternoon.
Bongani Zungu scored a stoppage time equaliser against the 2013 AFCON champions to cancel out Ahmed Musa’s strike five minutes from time.
South Africa dominated much of the possession throughout the match, however never really capitalised on their chances.
With five minutes to go Musa’ found the back of the net to break the deadlock and it seemed as if the visitors were heading for their 8th win over South Africa in their 12th meeting.Nigerian goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi however couldn’t properly stop Thuso Phala's flick towards goal and Zungu crashed home the rebound.
Earlier in the week South Africa beat Swaziland 3-1 in Mbabane in their first match since crashing out of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
