Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in London yesterday to clinch the 2014/15 English Premiership title.
Belgium international, Eden Hazard scored the only goal of the game in the 45th minute to secure the win and the title for Jose Mourninho’s side.
The win saw Chelsea claimed an unassailable 13 point lead over the outgoing champions Manchester City who in their turn secure the second spot with a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspurs thanks to a 29th minute Sergio Aguero strike.
Following the win, Chelsea skipper John Terry said it was a nervy affair for his side in front of the Stamford Bridge faithful.
The weekends’ other results saw West Brom beat Manchester United 1-0, Aston Vila edged Everton 3-2 in Birmingham.
Steven Gerrard scored what could be his last Liverpool goal to secure a 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers, West Ham beat Burnley 1-0.
Two Jordi Gomez Garcia-Penche penalties saw Sunderland beat Southampton 2-1 and Leicester City thumped Newcastle 3-0.
