Juve draws first blood | News Article

It was first blood for the two-time champions, Juventus last night when the Turin club beat Real Madrid 2-1 in the first leg semi-final of the UEFA Champions League.

Juve went ahead in the 8th minute when Alvaro Morata found the back of the next against his former club after Carlos Tevez's effort was spilled.

The lead didn’t last all that long when Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo nodded in James Rodriguez's cross in the 27th minute for the equaliser as well as his 54th goal of the season.

Throughout the match the title holders looked out of sorts and Dani Carvajal tripped Tevez in box after the break, only for a spot kick to be awarded to the home side.

The Argentine marksman dispatch the penalty for the win which left the 10-time champions stunned and plenty of with work to do at the Bernabeu next week Wednesday in the return leg.

This evening at the Camp Nou Barcelona take on the German giants Bayern Munich in what it’s expected to be another cracker.

Kick-off is at 20:45.
