Barca through to CL final | News Article

Barcelona are through to the final of the UEFA Champions League despite losing 3-2 to Bayern Munich last night at the Allianz Arena.

The Catalans advanced to the last two with a 5-3 aggregate after beating the Germans 3-0 at the Camp Nou last week.

Medhi Benatia opened the scoring for the Bavarians in the seventh minute of the match, however it was a brace by the Brazilian super star Neymar with goals in the 15th and 29th minutes which proved to be the deciders.

Robert Lewandowski equalised for the home side in the 59th minute, and Thomas Muller scored the winner 16 minutes from time, but it was a bridge too far for the five-time champions.

Barca and Croatian midfielder, Ivan Rakitic said playing in the final is not a dream anymore…it’s a reality.

"We worked well,  it's not so easy to play here in Munich but we were the better team over these two games.

"It was a hard game but that's normal, we were playing against one of the best teams in the world," the midfielder added.

This evening champions Real Madrid will look to overcome a 2-1 deficit when they face Juventus at the Bernabeu.
