Maseru - The prime minister of Lesotho, Tom Thabane, believes this morning's action by the Lesotho military was in fact a coup attempt.
This comes after military units are reported to have surrounded government and police buildings.
Gunfire has also been heard and there are rumours that police and soldiers have been injured.
Thabane says neighbouring South Africa has been approached for help.
