FEATURE: Nelson Mandela -- 25 years later─── OWEN KOCK 12:32 Mon, 02 Feb 2015
February 2 marks exactly 25 years since the announcement that Nelson Mandela would be released unconditionally from prison by the then president FW de Klerk - a move that changed the course of history for a South Africa on the brink of Civil War. De Klerk's predecessor, PW Botha wanted to release Mandela conditionally in the 1980’s, but he rejected it, saying his freedom and that of the people of South Africa cannot be separated. OFM Senior Journalist Owen Kock filed this special report.
