South Africa’s leading men’s singles tennis player, Kevin Anderson has advanced to the next round of the Mexican Open being played in Acapulco.
The Florida-based South African is looking to go one better in the Mexican resort town after losing last years’ final to Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov.
The world’s 15th seeded Anderson rebounded from a second-round exit in Delray Beach to secure a straightforward 6-1, 6-2 win over Germany's Dustin Brown.
Anderson did not face a single break point in the 52-minute match will meet Ivan Dodig of Croatia or or the USA’s Steve Johnson in the second round.
