Britain’s Andy Murray and the Czech Republic’s Tomas Berdych have advanced to the semi-finals of the Miami Open in Florida.
The Scot who won his 500th career match earlier in the week needed three sets to knockout Austria’s Dominic Thiem in the quarters.
The 2013 Wimbledon champion dropped the first set to beat the Austrian 3-6, 6-4 and 6-1.
He next faces the 8th seeded Berdych who beat Argentina’s Juan Monaco in straight sets.
The 2010 Wimbledon finalist dispatched the Argentine with a 6-3, 6-4 win.
The other two quarter-finals will see 8-time Grand Slam champion and world number one, Novak Djokovic of Serbia square up against Spain’s Ferrer.
Japan’s fourth seed Kei Nishikori will take on the worlds’ tallest player, the 6 ft 10 John Isner of America.
Earlier, women’s world number one, Serena Williams became just the 8th WTA player her 700th professional match, still 743 wins away from breaking Martina Navratilova’s record of 1442 wins.
