Take That – Do What You Like | News Article
This was a low budget music video directed by former BBC Radio 1 DJ and The Old Grey Whistle Test presenter Rosemary "Ro" Barratt and MTV Europe director Angie Smith.
It was shot at Vector Television studios in Heaton Mersey on 21 June 1991.
It features Take Thate band getting naked, bare buttocks and smearing jelly over themselves and was banned from daytime television.
It regularly features on documentaries on "bad music videos" programmes.
A VH1 survey placed the video at number 2 in its all-time worst video list, behind Cliff Richard's "Wired for Sound".
In the documentary Take That: For the Record, Gary Barlow admits that neither the song nor video were brilliant, but they were important in helping the band getting noticed. The video was also omitted from the 2005 video compilation Never Forget - The Ultimate Collection.
