'TB slowly becoming a pandemic'─── LANI FOUCHÉ 11:18 Thu, 18 Sep 2014
Bloemfontein - TB is slowly becoming a pandemic in the Free State.
Free State Health MEC, Benny Malakoane, said this at a media briefing this morning on the first Provincial Council on AIDS (PCA) meeting for the year.
Malakoane said men between the ages of 38 and 65 are most afflicted by TB, whether they have taken treatment or are on treatment.
The statistics formed part of the reason why the Free State health department is planning to intensify its awareness campaigns around the illness, as well as to recharge its AIDS, TB and STI strategy.

The first meeting is being held in the hopes to rekindle all the objectives of the PCA and to re-emphasize that the strategy and programmes are still a priority.
