Irish police investigate fatal stabbing involving SA couple─── 17:27 Thu, 18 Dec 2014
Co Clare - Irish police are investigating a fatal stabbing involving a South African couple.
The Irish Mirror reports 44-year-old Cornelius Belling and his 27-year-old wife Angelique were confirmed dead at the scene in Kildysart, Co Clare.
Police and the fire brigade had been dealing with a fire at a hardware shop last night when a bloodied Angie ran out of a home across the road. She collapsed on the pavement. She died on the scene despite the efforts of paramedics to save her.
Police discovered a screaming child in a nearby house and the injured Cornelius in an upstairs room in the house. Meanwhile police have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the double killing. A senior source said it was likely a case of the couple stabbing each other in a domestic fight that went drastically out of hand. Neighbours are caring for the couple’s daughters, aged three and five.
The family may have been experiencing financial difficulties.
