Transport Minister visits scene of train accident─── 11:29 Tue, 28 Apr 2015
Johannesburg - Transport Minister, Dipuo Peters, visited the scene of this morning's train accident at Denver train station in Johannesburg.
At least one person, a female safety officer, was killed and 240 people were injured when a Business Express train, with about 200 people, smashed into the back of a stationary Metroplus train with around 700 people on board.
Of those injured, 80 have been discharged from hospital. The driver of the Business Express, a woman, was airlifted to hospital.
The Rail Safety Regulator says inspectors are on scene to begin the probe into the accident.
