Mangaung councillors 'need to respect each other' | News Article

Bloemfontein - Mangaung Metro speaker, Mxolisi Siyonzana, urged councillors at a special council meeting in Bloemfontein this afternoon, to respect each other.

He explained that as political parties approach next year's local elections, councillors shouldn’t lose their mutual respect.
Siyonzana says he understands the pressure of the upcoming elections and that councillors are busy with election campaigns, but that shouldn’t affect the proceedings of the council.

This follows after the agenda of today’s meeting wasn’t tabled as the Democratic Alliance raised issues in terms of the council’s rule 43, which include the venue, time and date.

The DA wanted certain conditions to be met before they would consent to today's meeting.
