Passenger plane missing over Egypt─── 06:07 Thu, 19 May 2016
Cairo - An EgyptAir flight from Paris to Cairo with 69 people on board disappeared from the radar over Egyptian airspace, the airline said early Thursday.
The Airbus A320 with 59 passengers and 10 crew members took off from the French capital late Wednesday, the Egyptian national carrier said.
The plane was at a height of 37 000 feet and disappeared about 16 kilometres after entering Egyptian airspace, it said on its official Twitter feed.
EgyptAir said the plane “lost communication with the radar tracking system” at about 2:45 am (0045 GMT).
An initial message on Twitter by the airline quoted “an informed source” as saying that “flight MS804, which departed Paris at
23:09 [2109 GMT Wednesday], heading to Cairo, has disappeared from radar.”
