The Proteas seamer, Chris Morris, who fulfills the role of an all-rounder in the team, is fit and ready for tomorrow night’s One-Day International against the West Indies.

Morris has missed the side’s last two ODI’s of the triangular series against the Windies and Australia with an injured hamstring.

The return of the player is a major boost for the team and will strengthen their batting line-up.

The team’s long tail in the batting line-up was something that Australia exposed during their 36-run win over the Proteas on Saturday.

Hashim Amla, who scored 60 runs in the match, says it’s important for them to have a strong batting line-up.

"There is always a responsibility for any of the batsmen to close out the game.

"For many years, and with no disrespect to the lower order, we have had a longish tail but have still managed to win games of cricket.

"Mind you, players like Phangiso and Abbott have really improved their batting and certainly having Parney and Morris in the team as all-rounders does help.

"Regardless of whoever is batting at seven, eight and nine, it is up to the top order to get the team the win."

Wednesday night’s ODI between the Proteas and the Windies at Warner Park is scheduled to start at 19:00.

Meanwhile, the Windies beat Australia on Tuesday with Marlon Samuels earning the man of the match award for his 92 runs for the Calypso Boys.
