The West Indies are sweating over the fitness of captain, Jason Holder, ahead of Friday night’s triangular series’ One-Day International against South Africa in Barbados.

Holder is battling with a hamstring injury and it is doubtful whether he will be fit for the clash against the Proteas.

The player bowled just two overs before being forced to leave the field during the Windies’ 6-wicket loss to Australia.

The win by the world champions, Australia, secured their spot in Sunday’s final and the winner of tomorrow night’s match will face them.

The Proteas have taken two days off from training and are feeling rejuvenated ahead of the crunch match.

The team’s bowling coach, Charl Langeveldt, says the spirit in the side is high and they are ready for the match.

“The two days off have given us a breather, conditions are warm here so if you practice every day you will get dehydrated and your energy will be low.

“Our big thing is to keep the energy levels high and to manage the players well.

“From a bowling point of view, we are confident as an attack, especially the seamers.

“We have had the odd blip with the no-balls but that’s cricket, you are going to get that. The wides and no-balls have been a big improvement from the T20 World Cup where we were sloppy.

Friday night’s match between the Proteas and the Calypso Boys at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown is scheduled to start at 19:00 and Sunday’s final will be played at the same venue in Barbados.
