The International Cricket Council has handed both Kingsmead in Durban and the Queens Park Oval in Port of Spain bad report cards following the washed out Tests.

Only 99.4 overs were played between South Africa and New Zealand during the first Test in Durban.

Heavy rain on Saturday evening made play impossible for the last three days of the Test and the umpire deemed the field unplayable.

The rain left soft and muddy spots in the outfield and it saw the players running the risk of sustaining injuries.

Meanwhile, the fourth Test between the West Indies and India in Trinidad saw just 22 overs being played before the match was abandoned.

Both Cricket South Africa and the West Indies Cricket Board have been given 14 days to react to the fines proposed by the International Cricket Council.

The Proteas and Black Caps will face each other as from Saturday in the second and decisive Test and the good news is that no rain is predicted for SuperSport Park in Centurion.
