The VKB Knights will loom to maintain their momentum this weekend when they face the Dolphins in their crucial Sunfoil Series match.

The Knights top the standings after three rounds and are the only remaining unbeaten team in the competition.

Like the Knights, the side from KwaZulu-Natal are the early pace setters and are second in the standings following their loss to the third-placed Titans.

The Knights are delighted that their two opening bowlers, Duanne Olivier and Marchant de Lange, already have 37 wickets between them and that their batsmen have also come to the party.

The Proteas batsman, David Miller, scored 177 last week against the Highveld Lions on debut for the Knights and will be looking to follow that up with another big effort against his former team.

The Knights coach, Nicky Bojé, told OFM Sport that Miller is hungry to play Test cricket for South Africa.

“The captain Theunis de Bruyn has played well in all three games, but I think the main thing is that we have a couple batters that all want to play for South Africa.

“They are always going to come out and try their best to perform.

“David Miller showed again that he doesn’t want to be labelled just as a one-day player. He wants to play Test cricket.

“Over the weekend he showed again that he can do it.

The match between the Dolphins and the Knights at Kingsmead in Durban starts on Thursday morning.

Knights squad for the match in Durban - Tumelo Bodibe, Mbulelo Budaza, Werner Coetsee, Theunis de Bruyn (Captain), Marchant de Lange, Dillon du Preez, Michael Erlank, David Miller, Luthando Mnyanda, Duanne Olivier, Robin Peterson, Rudi Second (W/k), Schadley van Schalkwyk.

The playing XI will be finalised at the toss.
