The Proteas VKB Knights batman, David Miller, is fit and ready to play for South Africa again with the T20 International series against Sri Lanka starting on Friday.

Towards the end of last year the big hitter Miller battled with injuries and this saw him missing the largest part of the Knights domestic T20 campaign.

With 46 T20 games to his name for the Proteas, Miller is one of the most experienced players in the squad which included six new faces.

These new players include the Knights captain, Theunis de Bruyn, Lungi Ngidi of the Titans and Jon-Jon Smuts of the Warriors.

While Farhaan Berhardien will lead the side during the two first T20’s Miller says he will use his IPL captaincy experience to help his skipper.

“It's been pretty exciting,” said the destructive batsman, Miller.

“There's a lot of new caps, they've done really well in the domestic format.

“They all deserve to be here and get a chance to play for their country.

“Fudgie is captaining and it's a huge honour and privilege for him," said Miller.

“We're right behind him and I feel that I can add a lot of value even if I am not the captain.

“I just want to keep try adding value with the youngsters, learning from them and also being an example, as a senior player.

“There's been a process the last few years of my game, I feel like I've grown and learnt a lot. But I'm looking really forward to getting back this week.”

The first match of the series will be played on Friday evening at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
