Schwartzel joins Million Dollar field─── 08:31 Fri, 20 Nov 2015
South Africa’s Charl Schwartzel has been included in the field for the 2015 Nedbank Golf Challenge teeing off early next month at the Gary Player Country Club at Sun City.
The organisers of the tournament made the announcement yesterday that the 2011 Masters champions will now be playing, however, it has come at a cost. Ernie Els, who is a major draw card for the tournament whenever he plays, has been forced to withdraw due to an injury.
The organisers of the iconic tournament also named their 29th entry into the field and this will see Scotland’s Russell Knox entering the field.
Knox earned his maiden victory on the tour earlier this month when he won the WGC HSBC Champions in Shanghai, China.
Knox heads to Sun City as currently the top-ranked player on the PGA Tour’s FedExCup standings after losing a playoff to Graeme McDowell for the OHL Classic in Mexico.
The winner of next weekend’s European Tour, season-opening Alfred Dunhill Challenge at Leopard Creek in Malalane, earns the final entry into the field for Sun City.
Africa’s Major, which will be played for the last time in its current format, runs from 3 to 6 December in the Pilanesberg.
